In het parcours naar de ‘Krook’ (een stadsvernieuwingsproject in Gent) onderzoekt de Stedelijke Openbare Bibliotheek Gent (SOB) welke strategie men best aanneemt betreffende de inrichting en werking van de jongerenbib. Om de jongerenafdeling in de ‘Krook’ vorm te geven is het belangrijk om te weten wat er leeft bij deze doelgroep en hen te betrekken bij dit proces. Even belangrijk hierbij is om te weten wat de doelstellingen en aspiraties van de SOB zelf zijn. Om deze redenen streeft dit project naar een optimale wisselwerking tussen beide om zo tot een ideale toekomststrategie te komen. Deze proeftuin moet in de eerste plaats meer duidelijkheid brengen over de verschillende potentiële Gentse doelgroepen tussen 12 en 18 jaar, en meer bepaald hun verwachtingen ten aanzien van een moderne bibliotheek ingebed in de ‘Krook’. Meer concreet brengt dit proeftuinonderzoek, binnen de domeinen media en ICT, meer duidelijkheid over: (1) de meest interessante jongerendoelgroep(en) voor de moderne bibliotheek; (2) de behoeften en gebruikerscontext per deelsegment van de jongerenbibliotheek; (3) de meest interessante scenario’s en ideeën voor de jongerenbibliotheek en (4) het adoptiepotentieel per deelsegment van de meest interessante scenario’s en ideeën. |
| Summary: |
During the preparation of the ‘Krook’(a city renovation project in Ghent), the Public Library of Ghent (UPL) wants to explore which strategy they should use for the organization and functioning of a youth library. To shape the youth department in the ‘Krook’, it is important to involve youngsters in this research. It is also significant to know what the goals and aspirations can be for the UPL. For these reasons this research aims to generate an optimal interaction between youth and library to create an ideal strategy for the future. This Living Lab research clarifies the different potential target groups in Ghent and their expectations of a modern library in the ‘Krook’. More specifically, this Living Lab research aims to answer the following questions: (1) What are the most interesting youth target groups for a modern library?; (2) What are the needs and user contexts for every specific segment of the youth library?; (3) What are the most interesting scenarios and ideas for a youth library?; (4) How about the adoption potential for every specific segment of the youth library? |
