| Samenvatting: |
De ontwikkeling van de beginselen van internationale mensenrechten met betrekking tot de zelfbeschikking van de inheemse bevolking, kan op twee manieren bijdragen aan de realisatie van de mensenrechten voor inheemse kinderen. Eerst en vooral door de erkenning van de relatie die bestaat tussen bescherming en de ontwikkeling van de cultuur van inheemse kinderen door de rechten van het land en het territorium te beschermen, samen met de erkenning van de familie en de banden tussen verschillend verwanten. Ten tweede door de erkenning van zelfbeschikking die optreedt in de manier waarop men zichzelf definieert, en in de erkenning dat de inheemse bevolking hun eigen ervaringen kunnen kennen en begrijpen. Kinderen zijn een essentieel onderdeel voor het behoud en de ontwikkeling van de inheemse cultuur, sinds zij de culturele, sociale en taalkundige expressie kunnen helpen ontwikkelen. |
| Summary: |
The development of international human rights principles with respect to the self-determination of indigenous people could assist in two ways for the realization of indigenous children's human rights. This can be achieved in two ways, firstly through recognition of the relationship that exists between protection and advancement of the culture of Indigenous children by protecting the rights of the land and territory and the recognition of family and kinship connections. Secondly through the recognition of self-determination that is founded in self-definition and the recognition that Indigenous people can know and understand their own experiences. Children are essential to the retention and development of indigenous culture, since they can help develop the cultural, social and linguistic expressions. |
