Dit project betreft onderzoek naar de dynamieken van terugkeermigratie van de tweede generatie Belgisch-Turkse jongeren. Meer specifiek, beoogt het onderzoek inzicht te verschaffen in het complexe samenspel van sociale, culturele, ideologische en economische factoren die de aspiraties naar migratie van de tweede generatie Turkse jongeren voeden, rekening houdend met een micro-, meso- en macroperspectief. Terugkeermigratie impliceert twee plaatsen: het vestigingsland en het herkomstland. In het kader van dit onderzoek ligt de focus op de situatie in Vlaanderen en Brussel als herkomstland en in Turkije als vestigingsland. Het onderzoek brengt enerzijds de migratieaspiraties naar Turkije van Belgisch-Turkse jongeren in België in kaart en geeft anderzijds inzicht in de ervaringen van de reeds gemigreerde Belgisch-Turkse jongeren in Turkije. Het project omsluit kwalitatief onderzoek. |
| Summary: |
This project concerns research into the dynamics of return migration of the second generation of Belgian-Turkish youth. More specifically, this research aims to provide insight in the complex mix of social, cultural, ideological and economical factors that feed the aspirations for migration of the second generation Turkish youngsters. Special attention is given to a micro-, meso-, and macro perspective. Return migration implies two places: country of origin and the country to establish oneself. Within the framework of this research, the focus is on the situation in Flanders and Brussels as country of origin and Turkey as country to establish oneself. On the one hand, the project maps the migration aspirations to Turkey of Belgian-Turkish youth in Belgium. On the other hand, the research sheds light on the experiences of the already migrated Belgian-Turkish youngsters in Turkey. The project is based on qualitative research. |
