Het doel van dit Verdrag is het verzekeren van effectieve internationale vordering van kinderbijstand en andere vormen van gezinsonderhoud. Het Verdrag is van toepassing op gevallen van kinderbijstand. Globaal spitst het Verdrag zich toe op het procederen van aanmeldingen, effectieve toegang tot procedures, erkenning en handhaving van bestaande beslissingen, onderhoudsovereenkomsten, en handhaving in het intern rechtssysteem. Het Verdrag wordt aangevuld door een Protocol inzake de wet die van toepassing is op onderhoudsgeschillen. |
| Summary: |
The object of the Convention is to ensure the effective international recovery of child support and other forms of family maintenance. The Convention applies on a mandatory basis to child support cases. On the whole, the Convention focuses on the processing of applications, effective access to procedures, recognition and enforcement of existing decisions, maintenance arrangements, and enforcement under internal law. The Convention is supplemented by a Protocol dealing with the applicable law to maintenance disputes. |
