De bedoeling is via ICT de kinderen in contact te houden met hun klas tijdens hun afwezigheid en op die manier hun betrokkenheid bij het formele en informele schoolleven te ondersteunen. Op formeel vlak zal het bijvoorbeeld mogelijk zijn de lessen mee te volgen vanop afstand; op informeel vlak ondersteunt het hulpmiddel sociale contacten tussen de zieke leerling en de klas (klasgenoten en juf/meester). Summary: The aim of the ASCIT research project is to develop an educational and social tool for children of primary school who are ill for a long time. More specifically, this research uses ICT to allow children to stay in contact with their class during their absence in order to stimulate their participation in formal as well as informal school life. For example, the tool allows them to follow their classes’ teachings from a distance (formal) and stimulates social contacts between the ill student and his class (classmates and teacher).
