Summary: This decision aims to establish the numbering range beginning with ‘116’ to be reserved in national numbering plans for harmonised numbers for harmonised services of social value. The 116 000-hotline is intended to provide a single number for missing children and their parents to call for help anywhere in the EU. Having the same hotline will allow children and parents in trouble to get help when away from home.
