In deze mededeling stelt de Commissie een agenda voor de versterking van kinderrechten in de EU door de beginselen uit het EU Handvest inzake fundamentele rechten in de praktijk om te zetten. Het noteert een aantal acties die de Commissie over de komende jaren zal nemen om kinderrechten te beschermen, zoals het bevorderen van kindvriendelijke justitie, het beter informeren van kinderen over hun rechten, het internet voor kinderen veiliger maken, de bescherming van kinderen in kwetsbare situaties, en kinderen in het buitenlands beleid van de EU. De EU kan de lidstaten ondersteunen in hun inspanningen, zowel door hen te helpen in bepaalde gebieden en door te voorzien in een kader voor wederzijds leren binnen welke de lidstaten de vele goede praktijken in de gehele Unie kunnen identificeren vaststellen. |

In this Communication, the Commission proposes an agenda for reinforcing children's rights in the EU by putting the principles included in the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights into action. It lists a number of actions that the Commission will take over the next years to protect children’s rights, including promoting child-friendly justice, better informing children about their rights, making the internet safer for children, the protection of vulnerable children and children in the EU’s external action. The EU can support the Member States in their efforts, both by assisting them in certain areas and by providing a framework for mutual learning within which Member States can identify and adopt the many good practices to be found across the Union. |
