Deze mededeling beschrijft de huidige stand van zaken wat betreft jeugdtewerkstelling in de Europese Unie (EU) en stelt oplossingen voor om de hoge niveaus van werkloosheid in deze leeftijdscategorie aan te pakken. Eerst beschrijft het de huidige situatie van jeugdtewerkstelling. Vervolgens moedigt het de Lidstaten aan om zich te concentreren op verschillende doelstellingen om de jeugdtewerkstelling te verzorgen. Tot slot stelt de Commissie verscheidene actiemiddelen voor die genomen kunnen worden om een actieve jeugdbevolking aan te moedigen, om de toegang van jonge mensen tot tewerkstelling te verbeteren. |
| Summary: |
This Communication presents the current situation regarding youth employment in the European Union (EU) and proposes solutions for tackling the high levels of unemployment in this age category. First, it describes the current situation of youth employment. Next, it encourages Member states to concentrate on several objectives for fostering youth employment. Finally the Commission suggests several courses of action to be taken to encourage an active youth population, in order to improve young people’s access to employment. |
