Deze resolutie handelt over kinderen en adolescenten met een migratieachtergrond. In deze resolutie komen heel wat relevante beleidsinstrumenten aan bod. Het Internationaal Verdrag inzake economische, sociale en culturele rechten, het Verdrag inzake de Rechten van het Kind (VRK), het Facultatief Protocol bij het Verdrag inzake de Rechten van het kind, inzake de verkoop van kinderen, kinderprostitutie en kinderpornografie, … Kinderen en adolescenten met een migratieachtergrond kunnen blootgesteld worden aan een inbreuk op de mensenrechten en misbruik op verschillende momenten in hun tocht. Op die manier kan hun fysiek, emotioneel en psychologisch welzijn aangetast worden in hun land van herkomst, van transit of van bestemming. Soms niet bewust van hun rechten, worden ze blootgesteld aan misdaden en inbreuk op hun mensenrechten door onder andere transnationale criminele organisaties en criminelen, waarbij ook gedwongen arbeid, kinderarbeid, seksueel misbruik en exploitatie, psychische schade en zelfs de dood deel van uitmaakt. Alle personen hebben ongeacht hun migratieachtergrond recht op een eerlijk en publiek verhoor door een competent, onafhankelijk en onpartijdig tribunaal. |

This resolution is about migrant children and adolescents. In this resolution many relevant policy instruments are discussed. The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, ... Children and Adolescents with a migration background can be exposed to a violation of human rights and abuse at various points in their journey, which can threaten their physical, emotional and psychological well-being in the countries of origin, transit and destination. Many migrant children may not be aware of their rights and may be exposed to crimes and human rights abuses committed by transnational criminal organizations and common criminals, including theft, kidnapping, extortion, threats, trafficking in persons, including forced labour, child labour, sexual abuse and exploitation, physical harm and death. All persons, regardless of their migration background have the right to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal. |
