Het Europees Sociaal Handvest (herzien in 1996) garandeert de fundamentele economische, sociale en culturele rechten van personen in hun dagelijks leven. Het brengt alle rechten van het originele Handvest van 1961, het aanvullend protocol van 1988 en een aantal nieuwe rechten en amendementen van de Verdragspartijen samen in een enkel instrument. Kinderen en jongeren worden specifiek vermeld met betrekking tot (1) hun recht op bijzondere bescherming tegen fysische en morele risico’s waaraan ze worden blootgesteld, en (2) hun recht op passende sociale, juridische en economische bescherming. |
| Summary: |
The European Social Charter (revised in 1996) guarantees fundamental social, economic and cultural rights of all individuals in their daily lives. It embodies in one instrument all rights guaranteed by the Charter of 1961, its additional Protocol of 1988, as well as a number of new rights and amendments adopted by the Parties. |
