Het ‘due diligence-principe’ is een gevestigd onderdeel van de verplichtingen van een staat om handelingen die uitgevoerd worden door private actoren te richten tot preventie en bescherming van slachtoffers tegen misbruik, het straffen van de daders en te zorgen voor oplossingen voor de slachtoffers. Ook is er een expliciete focus op vrouwen en kinderen. |

The due diligence principle is a well-established component of a State’s obligations to address acts by private actors by preventing and protecting victims against such abuses, punishing the perpetrators, and ensuring remedies for victims.
