In deze aanbeveling vraagt PACE het Comité van Ministers om lidstaten te vragen een aantal essentiële internationale en regionale instrumenten inzake adoptie, kinderhandel, uitbuiting en seksueel geweld tegen kinderen te ondertekenen, te ratificeren en in de praktijk om te zetten. Men moet te allen tijde garanderen dat aanstaande adoptieouders in aanmerking komen en geschikt zijn om kinderen te adopteren. Ook moeten geadopteerde kinderen het recht krijgen om hun afkomst te leren kennen. Nationale autoriteiten moeten ook een aantal zaken van verdwijning van pasgeboren baby’s opnieuw openen. |
| Summary: |
In this Recommendation, PACE asks the Committee of Ministers to ask the governments of member states to sign, ratify and implement a number of key international and regional instruments on adoption, child trafficking, exploitation and sexual violence against children. It must at all times be ensured that persons wishing to make international adoptions are eligible and suitable to adopt, and adopted children must be given the right to know their origins. National authorities should also reopen cases of disappearance of newborn babies.
