Volgend rapport is ingediend op grond van de Algemene Vergadering Resolutie 68/147. De nieuwe rapporteur, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, beschrijft de activiteiten van haar voorganger, die plaatsvonden sinds het vorige verslag, in verband met de uitoefening van haar mandaat aan de Vergadering alsook haar benoeming door de Mensenrechtenraad in mei 2014. Ze geeft ook een overzicht van de richting die ze graag uit wil tijdens haar ambtstermijn met inbegrip van haar aanpak en visie, de reikwijdte van het mandaat en de te ontwikkelen methoden voor de strategische uitvoering van haar mandaat. Het uiteindelijke doel hierbij is het voorkomen en bestrijden van de verhandeling en de seksuele uitbuiting van kinderen vanuit een mensenrechtenperspectief. |
| Summary: |
The present report is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 68/147. The newly appointed Special Rapporteur, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, describes the activities undertaken in relation to the discharge of her mandate since the previous report to the Assembly by her predecessor and her appointment by the Human Rights Council in May 2014. She also provides an outline of the direction that she intends to give to her work during her tenure, including her approach to and vision of the scope of the mandate and the methods of work that she will develop for the strategic implementation of her mandate, with the final goal of preventing and combating the sale and sexual exploitation of children from a human rights perspective.
