In dit rapport wordt de vrijheid van religie en overtuiging besproken door de Special Rapporteur. Hij biedt een overzicht van de activiteiten onder zijn mandaat sinds het vorige rapport van de General Assembly (A/69/261). Het rapport richt zich thematisch op de Rechten van het Kind en zijn of haar ouders op het gebied van vrijheid van godsdienst of overtuiging. Artikel 14 van het Verdrag inzake de Rechten van het Kind, die het kind als een houder van de rechten van vrijheid met betrekking tot godsdienst en overtuiging erkend, moet worden begrepen in continuïteit met alle andere internationale normen van de vrijheid van godsdienst of overtuiging, met inbegrip van Artikel 18 van de Universele Verklaring van de Rechten van de Mens , Artikel 18 van het Internationaal Verdrag inzake Burgerrechten en Politieke Rechten en de Verklaring inzake het verbannen van alle vormen van intolerantie en van discriminatie op basis van godsdienst of overtuiging . |

In the present report, the Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief provides an overview of his activities under the mandate since the submission of his previous report to the General Assembly (A/69/261). Thematically, the report focuses on the rights of the child and his or her parents in the area of freedom of religion or belief. Article 14 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which recognizes the child as a rights holder of freedom of religion or belief, should be understood in continuity with all other international standards of freedom of religion or belief, including article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Declaration on the Elimination of all Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief. |
